Biopatch Antimicrobial Dressings
When a catheter or vascular access line stays in place for days, the insertion site becomes the single greatest infection risk. Biopatch by Johnson & Johnson addresses that risk directly: a soft, blue foam disk impregnated with chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) that surrounds the catheter site and delivers continuous antimicrobial protection for up to seven days. It's the reason infection-prevention protocols in ICUs, oncology units, and dialysis centers reach for this dressing by name.
Biopatch works by absorbing fluid at the site and releasing CHG in both directions — down toward the insertion point and out across the surrounding skin — suppressing bacterial and fungal growth where central lines, PICCs, arterial catheters, and other percutaneous devices enter the body. Because it reduces the need for frequent site changes, it also means less disruption to the patient and the line.
