Vial cap opener tool lifts the plastic lid off most bottles. Rest the handle on top of the bottle and move the curved part of the device just under the lid but not all the way to the neck of the bottle. Slowly and gently press down on the handle with the palm of your hand; use your fingers to keep the metal hook on the lid edge. It will lift off the upper part leaving a screw lid. Tool works well on child-proof amber Rx vials but not regular screw-top ones.
