Cosmopor Adhesive Dressings

Cosmopor adhesive dressings from Hartmann are self-adhesive, sterile wound dressings built for post-surgical incisions, minor lacerations, and abrasions where you need a low-adherent pad and a secure border in a single application. Each dressing combines a soft nonwoven backing with an absorbent central pad, so there's no need to layer gauze under a separate tape — the dressing does both jobs at once.

The absorbent pad is designed to draw exudate away from the wound while the wound-contact layer resists sticking, which makes dressing changes noticeably less painful and reduces the risk of disturbing new tissue. The rounded, all-around adhesive edge holds firmly to skin yet peels back cleanly, and the breathable nonwoven backing lets skin stay comfortable under the dressing across everyday wear.

This collection covers the sizes clinicians reach for most:

• 2 x 2-4/5 in (ref. 900800): a compact rectangle for small incisions, puncture sites, and minor cuts.
• 4 x 4 in (ref. 900820): a square format suited to larger abrasions and moderately sized surgical wounds.
• 3-1/5 x 4 in (ref. 900806) and 4 x 10 in (ref. 900814): rectangular options for longer incisions, including orthopedic and abdominal closures.

Choosing a size is straightforward: the pad should fully cover the wound while the adhesive border rests on intact, dry skin — a rough rule is to allow at least half an inch of margin on every side. All variants except where noted are supplied sterile in individual peel-open packs, so they're ready for aseptic technique in clinics, care facilities, and home wound care alike.
