CPR-D padz

When an AED alarms during a cardiac emergency, the electrode pad is the single point of contact between the device and the patient — and it has to work the first time. CPR-D padz are Zoll's one-piece defibrillation electrodes built for exactly that moment, combining the front and back adhesive pads into a single unit that guides correct placement and helps reduce the fumbling that costs seconds in a rescue.

The Zoll Medical CPR-D padz Defibrillating Electrodes (8900-0800-01) are designed for adult patients and pair with Zoll AED Plus and AED Pro units — compatible with model numbers 21700010101011010, 21800010101011010, and 21900010101011010. What sets these apart is the integrated Real CPR Help sensor built into the pad, which measures the depth and rate of chest compressions and gives the rescuer live feedback. That means the same pad that shocks also coaches, so a bystander or first responder isn't guessing whether they're pushing hard enough.

Two questions come up most often with these electrodes. First, shelf life: like all defibrillation pads, CPR-D padz carry an expiration date because the conductive gel dries out over time — check the date on your stored units and rotate them before they lapse so your AED is never left with an expired set. Second, whether they're reusable: they aren't. These are single-patient, single-use electrodes; once applied and the gel is exposed, they should be replaced. Keeping a spare set on hand alongside your AED is standard practice for any workplace, gym, school, or facility that maintains a rescue-ready device.
