Crosstex Sterilization Pouches

For dental practices, surgical suites, and instrument reprocessing departments, packaging is where sterility begins. The Crosstex Duo-Check line gives sterile processing techs a self-seal pouch they can trust to hold a barrier and confirm the cycle actually ran the way it should.

Every Duo-Check pouch carries the "Duo" its name promises: dual process indicators printed right on the pouch, so a single package tells you whether it was exposed to steam autoclave or ethylene oxide (EO) gas. The color shift moves from the pre-process shade to the processed shade only when the correct conditions are met, so staff aren't relying on memory or a separate log to know a load was run correctly. That built-in verification is why these are a staple in high-turnover operatories.

Two constructions cover the way most instruments are packed. The all-paper pouches — like the 2-3/4 x 9 inch SCX and the smaller 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 inch SCXS — suit routine steam loads where you don't need to see inside. The paper/film pouches with a transparent front over a blue back let you identify contents at a glance, which matters when a tray needs a specific handpiece or forcep pulled fast. Those transparent/blue options run the practical size range: the compact 3-1/2 x 9 inch SCS, the mid-size 5-1/4 x 10 inch SCM, and longer 5-1/4 x 15 inch (SCL515) and 3-1/2 x 22 inch (SCL322) pouches for elongated or bundled instruments.

The self-seal adhesive strip is the everyday time-saver — fold, press, and the pouch closes without heat sealing or tape, which keeps a busy sterilization bench moving. When you're stocking, choose the pouch width to fit the instrument with room for air and steam circulation rather than forcing a tight fit, and keep a couple of sizes on hand so small burs and long probes each get an appropriate package.
