DermaBlue+ Foam Silver Wound Dressings
DermaBlue+ Foam by DermaRite combines an absorbent polyurethane foam with ionic silver, giving clinicians a dressing that manages exudate while providing sustained antimicrobial protection against a broad range of wound pathogens. The distinctive blue color makes the dressing easy to see against tissue during placement and removal — a small detail that matters when you're managing pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, surgical wounds, or partial- and full-thickness wounds with moderate to heavy drainage.
The silver component works to reduce bioburden and control infection risk, while the foam itself wicks and holds fluid to keep the wound bed at an optimal moisture level and protect surrounding skin from maceration. Because these are non-adhesive dressings without a border, they're versatile for wounds under compression wraps or on fragile periwound skin where an adhesive would cause trauma — you secure them with a secondary dressing, wrap, or tape of your choice.
This collection carries the sizes wound care nurses reach for most: the 4 x 4 inch DermaBlue+ Silver Foam (76040414) for typical wounds, the larger 4 x 5 inch (76040514) for broader or draining sites, and RTD Foam Dressing with Silver in compact 2 x 2 inch (76020218) squares for smaller or awkwardly placed wounds. All are sterile and packaged for single use.
How often you change a silver foam dressing depends on drainage and wound condition, but many protocols allow wear times of up to several days, reducing dressing changes and disruption to healing tissue. Always follow your facility's wound care protocol or clinician guidance.
