Durafiber Gelling Fiber Dressings
Durafiber by Smith & Nephew is a gelling fiber dressing built for wounds that produce moderate to heavy exudate. On contact with fluid, its cellulose and cellulose ethyl sulphonate fibers transform into a soft, cohesive gel that locks moisture into the dressing rather than releasing it back onto the wound bed — the key to maintaining a moist healing environment without macerating the surrounding skin.
What sets Durafiber apart from traditional gelling fibers is its structural integrity when wet. The dressing maintains its strength as it gels, so clinicians can typically lift it out in one piece.
