Duralife Replacement Parts & Accessories
When a shower chair or mobility aid starts to wobble or roll where it shouldn't, the fix is usually smaller than the whole chair. Duralife makes the replacement hardware that keeps bathroom safety equipment stable and functional, so a single worn part doesn't force you to retire an otherwise good piece of equipment.
A common replacement is the Duralife 5-inch caster with brake (005B), built specifically for shower chairs. The locking brake matters here: on wet tile, an unlocked caster is a fall risk, and a caster that won't hold its lock is worse. This wheel gives you rolling mobility when you need to move the chair and a firm, positive lock when someone is transferring in or out. The 5-inch size and brake mechanism are sized to fit standard shower and commode chair frames.
If you're ordering a replacement caster, check a few things before you buy: the wheel diameter, the stem or mounting type your chair uses, and whether your existing casters have brakes or not. Matching the original spec keeps the chair level and prevents uneven wear on the remaining wheels. Most shower chairs use four identical casters, so if one has failed, it's often worth inspecting the others.
