Dusoft nonwoven sponges from Integra LifeSciences give clinicians a softer, more absorbent alternative to traditional woven gauze. Made from a polyester and rayon blend, these sponges hold more fluid, generate less lint, and feel gentler against the wound bed — which is why so many nurses reach for them during dressing changes and routine wound cleaning.

Because the fibers are bonded rather than woven, Dusoft sponges won't fray or shed loose threads into the wound the way cotton gauze sometimes does. That lower lint profile matters when you're packing, cleaning, or covering a site where stray fibers could delay healing. The 4-ply construction adds bulk and absorbency without adding weight, and the material stays soft even after it's saturated.

The range covers the sizes and formats a supply room actually needs. The 2 x 2 inch, 4-ply sterile sponges (84122) handle small wounds, prep, and light drainage, while the 4 x 4 inch sterile (84144) and non-sterile (94144) squares are the everyday workhorses for larger sites and general cleanup. For sites with tubing or drains, the Ducare Drain Sponges (84918) and Dumex IV/Drain Split Dressings (84916) feature a pre-cut slit that fits snugly around catheters, drains, and IV insertion points — no cutting sterile gauze at the bedside. There's also a 3 x 3 inch 4-ply sterile option (84133) that bridges the two common sizes.
