DynaGel Hydrogel Dressing

When a wound bed is dry or covered in necrotic tissue, healing stalls. DynaGel from Dynarex is an amorphous hydrogel that donates moisture back to the wound, softening slough and eschar so the body can do its work. It's the dressing clinicians and home caregivers reach for on pressure ulcers, partial- and full-thickness wounds, skin tears, and first- and second-degree burns where a moist environment speeds autolytic debridement.

This collection features the Dynarex DynaGel Hydrogel Dressing in a 3-ounce tube (item 1280) — translucent, latex-free, and slightly alkaline with only a faint polyol odor. The tube format matters more than it sounds: you can apply gel exactly where it's needed, fill irregular wound cavities and tunnels, and control the amount without wasting product the way pre-loaded sheets sometimes do.

A common question is how much to apply. Spread a layer roughly a quarter-inch thick across the wound bed, then cover with a secondary dressing — gauze, a foam, or a film — to hold the moisture in place. Because hydrogel adds water rather than absorbing it, DynaGel suits wounds with little to no drainage; heavily exuding wounds are better served by an alginate or foam. Dressing changes typically happen every one to three days depending on the wound and clinician guidance, and the translucent gel lets you monitor healing between changes.

Hydrogel also soothes. The cooling, moist contact eases the pain of burns and painful ulcers, which makes it a practical choice for both clinical and at-home care. Keep the tube capped between uses and store at room temperature to preserve the gel.
