FourFlex 4 Layer Compression Bandage System

The FourFlex 4 Layer Compression Bandage System from Medline is built for clinicians managing venous leg ulcers and chronic lower-limb edema, where sustained, graduated compression is what actually moves fluid and heals the wound. Rather than reaching for separate padding, crepe, and compression rolls, FourFlex bundles the full layered system so each dressing change is consistent and the therapeutic sub-bandage pressure lands where it should — roughly 40 mmHg at the ankle, tapering up the leg.

The four layers each do a specific job. An absorbent orthopedic wool layer pads the limb and protects bony prominences, a conforming layer smooths and adds absorbency, then a light compression layer and a cohesive outer layer lock everything in place so the bandage stays put between weekly changes. That cohesive top layer is a practical detail busy clinics appreciate: it grips itself, resists slipping during walking, and doesn't require pins or tape.

The Medline FourFlex 4 Layer Compression Bandage System (MSC4400) is intended for patients with adequate arterial supply — always confirm ABPI before applying high compression — and is most often used for venous ulceration, lymphedema, and post-surgical edema management. Applied over a suitable primary wound dressing, it can typically stay in place up to seven days depending on exudate and clinical judgment.

Compression therapy is delivered as a complete kit, but if you're comparing formats, explore related options in our Compression Wraps & Bandages and Elastic & Retention Bandages collections, or pair with primary dressings from our Wound Dressings range.
