Heelift Heel Protector Boots

Heelift boots lift the heel completely off the bed surface, eliminating the pressure that leads to heel ulcers in patients on extended bed rest. Unlike padded booties that simply cushion the heel, Heelift suspends it — floating the vulnerable posterior heel entirely free of contact so blood flow isn't compromised at the very spot where pressure injuries most often begin.

Both the Heelift Glide Boot and the Heelift Glide Heel Protector Boot use a foam elevation pad that redistributes weight up the calf, away from the heel and Achilles tendon. The "Glide" design adds a low-friction base that lets the foot slide across bedding rather than dragging, which reduces the shear forces that compound skin breakdown when a patient repositions or is moved. That combination — offloading plus shear reduction — is why clinicians reach for Heelift in wound-prevention protocols for immobile, diabetic, and post-surgical patients.

Caregivers often ask whether these boots stay on and whether they fit both feet. The adjustable straps secure the boot without cutting into circulation, and the ambidextrous foam construction works on either the left or right foot, so a single size range covers most adults. The open, breathable foam helps keep skin dry, and the elevation pad can be repositioned to relieve pressure on the ankle or the calf as needed. They're light enough that a mobile patient can keep them on while transferring to a chair.

Because heel protection is one piece of a broader pressure-injury strategy, many facilities pair Heelift boots with support surfaces and barrier products.
