IodoFoam Antimicrobial Foam Dressings
IodoFoam is a line of iodine-infused foam wound dressings built to do two jobs at once: manage exudate and deliver sustained antimicrobial action to the wound bed. The combination matters because a wound that stays too wet macerates surrounding skin, while a wound left unprotected against bacteria stalls in the inflammatory phase. Foam dressings carrying an iodine complex address both, absorbing drainage into the foam matrix while releasing iodine gradually to reduce bioburden.
Clinicians reach for iodine foam dressings when a wound shows signs of colonization or elevated infection risk—chronic ulcers, surgical sites, pressure injuries, and diabetic foot wounds among them. Iodine offers a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria, fungi, and biofilm, and unlike some agents it carries a long track record with limited reported resistance. The foam carrier keeps the antimicrobial in contact with the wound surface and cushions the area, which helps with both healing and patient comfort under compression or offloading.
