IV3000 Transparent Catheter Dressings
Keeping an IV or catheter site secure and visible without trapping moisture is the whole reason clinicians reach for IV3000 dressings. Built on Smith & Nephew's moisture-responsive REACTIC film technology, these transparent dressings breathe—venting moisture vapor away from the skin at a rate that adjusts to how much the site is perspiring. That matters because moisture pooling under a dressing is what loosens adhesion, macerates skin, and invites contamination. IV3000 is engineered to stay put on active patients, in the shower, and through longer wear intervals.
The film is thin, breathable, and waterproof, so the insertion site stays continuously visible for monitoring redness, swelling, or leakage without lifting the dressing. It's latex-free and sterile, and the low-trauma adhesive is designed to hold securely yet remove without stripping fragile skin—an everyday concern with peripheral IVs, central lines, and PICC sites.
A hallmark of the range is the 1-Hand delivery application. The frame-and-tab design lets a single clinician position and apply the dressing cleanly, which reduces contamination risk and speeds line placement. We stock several formats to match the site and catheter type:
- Cardinal Health IV3000 1-Hand, 2-3/8" x 2-3/4" (MMT-174) — a compact size for peripheral IV sites.
- Smith & Nephew IV3000 C-Shape (66800786) — the notched shape wraps around catheter hubs and tubing for a tighter seal.
- Smith & Nephew IV3000 1-Hand, 3.5" x 4.75" (66004009) and 4" x 4-3/8" (66024008) — larger coverage for central lines and PICCs.
- IV 3000 4" x 5" rectangle (4925) — sterile, transparent coverage for broader dressing needs.
Choosing a size comes down to catheter type and how much skin you need to anchor: peripheral sites do well with the smaller squares, while central and PICC lines benefit from the larger films or the C-shaped cutout around the hub. All are single-use and sterile, packaged for consistent stock in clinics, infusion centers, and home care.
