LoPress Compression Bandages
LoPress is Hartmann's line of short-stretch and elastic compression bandages built for managing venous leg ulcers, lymphedema, and other conditions where sustained, controlled pressure supports healing. What sets these bandages apart is their low resting pressure and high working pressure—a short-stretch behavior that keeps compression comfortable while a patient is at rest but delivers firm therapeutic support during movement. That combination is exactly what clinicians look for when they need effective compression that patients can actually tolerate over long wear times.
This collection carries two distinct LoPress constructions. The LoPress Inelastic Compression Bandages (item numbers 42300000 and 42400000) are the short-stretch, latex-free workhorses—available in roughly 3.1-inch and 3.9-inch widths on 5.4-yard rolls, non-sterile and cotton-based. Their limited stretch is what produces the low-resting/high-working pressure profile suited to ambulatory patients. The LoPress Clip Detached Closure Elastic Bandages (42500000, tan cotton, 12 cm x 5 m) offer more give for general support and secondary retention, with a clip closure that fastens without pins or tape.
Choosing between them comes down to the therapy: reach for the inelastic short-stretch bandages when the goal is graduated compression therapy for edema or ulcer management, and the elastic version when you need conforming support or to hold a dressing in place. Both are latex-free, an important consideration for patients and staff with sensitivities. Width matters too—wider rolls cover larger limb circumferences with fewer layers, while narrower widths conform better around the ankle and foot.
