Magellan Safety Insulin & Tuberculin Syringes
For clinicians and diabetes patients who inject daily, needlestick protection shouldn't require an extra step. The Magellan safety syringe line from Cardinal Health builds a sliding safety shield directly into the syringe, letting the user cover the needle single-handedly right after injection — a design that supports OSHA bloodborne pathogen compliance without slowing down clinical workflow.
This collection centers on U-100 insulin syringes with fixed, attached needles in the sizes that matter for accurate dosing: 0.3 mL for low-dose regimens, 0.5 mL for mid-range doses, and 1 mL for larger volumes. Needle options include 29 gauge x 1/2 inch and the finer 30 gauge x 5/16 inch, the short, thin profile many patients prefer for more comfortable subcutaneous injection. Because the needle is permanently attached, there's no dead space to waste medication and no separate needle to assemble or misplace.
Also available is the Magellan tuberculin safety syringe — a 1 mL, 27 gauge x 1/2 inch model marked in 0.1 mL increments, suited to TB testing, allergy work, and other precise small-volume intradermal and subcutaneous injections. Like the insulin syringes, it's sterile, single-use, and made with a clear polypropylene barrel for easy dose verification.
