Maxorb Alginate Dressings
When a wound is draining more than a standard gauze pad can handle, Maxorb Extra dressings from Medline earn their place in the supply closet. This gelling fiber line blends calcium alginate with carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), so it absorbs several times its weight in exudate and converts to a soft gel that keeps the wound bed moist without macerating the surrounding skin. That combination is what clinicians look for in moderate-to-heavily draining wounds — pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds left to heal by secondary intention, and cavity or tunneling wounds.
The collection covers the shapes and sizes those situations demand. Flat pads like the 2 x 2 inch (MSC7022EP) and 4 x 4 inch (MSC7044EP) handle open surface wounds, while the 1 x 12 inch alginate rope (MSC7112EP) packs deep or undermined areas that a flat dressing can't reach. Every version is sterile, non-adhesive, and not made with natural rubber latex.
