Medi-Tech International Dressing Retainers & Support Bandages
Medi-Tech International is best known for its Spandage and SpandaGrip lines — elastic net retainers and tubular support bandages that solve two everyday problems in wound and orthopedic care: holding a dressing in place without tape, and applying even compression to an awkwardly shaped limb. If you've ever tried to secure gauze on a knee, elbow, head, or torso with adhesive that pulls at fragile skin, this is the category that replaces that frustration.
The Spandage Elastic Net Retainer Dressings work like a stretchable mesh sleeve. You pull them over a dressing and they conform to the contour, letting the wound breathe while keeping the pad exactly where it belongs. Because there's no adhesive touching skin, they're a common choice for patients with tape allergies, thin or aging skin, or wounds that need frequent redressing. The 8 x 24 inch cut (MT8X24) suits limbs and joints, while the 30-yard bulk roll (MT07) lets facilities cut retainers to any length as needed rather than stocking multiple sizes.
SpandaGrip Elastic Tubular Support Bandages serve a different purpose: graduated support and light compression for sprains, strains, and post-injury swelling. The cotton-and-elastic construction is comfortable against skin for extended wear, and sizing is by width — the 2-3/4 inch (SAG13112) works for smaller joints like wrists and ankles, the 3 inch (SAG13113) for elbows and knees, and the 5 inch (SAG13120) for larger limbs and the thigh. Matching bandage width to limb circumference is what delivers correct compression, so ordering the right size matters more than with a wrap-style bandage.
All items here are non-sterile, which is standard for retention and support applications where the dressing beneath provides the sterile barrier. For related supply lines, see Advanced Meditech International and Amsino International.
