Darco MedSurg Post-Op Shoes
After forefoot surgery, a bunionectomy, toe amputation, or while a fracture heals, an ordinary shoe simply won't fit over a bandaged or swollen foot — and the pressure it puts on the surgical site can slow recovery. The Darco MedSurg post-op shoe solves that problem with a wide, roomy design and a rigid, protective sole that keeps weight off healing tissue while you stay mobile.
These are the recovery shoes clinicians reach for after outpatient podiatric and orthopedic procedures. The square-toe box accommodates bulky dressings and post-surgical swelling, and the durable rubber/vinyl outsole provides stable, slip-resistant footing so you can walk with confidence during the weeks it takes to heal.
We carry two Darco MedSurg styles to match how you'll use it. The strapless forefoot-closure models — like the men's black MQM1B, MQM2B, and MQM3B and women's MQW1B, MQW2B, and MQW3B — offer a clean, easy step-in fit ideal for shorter-term wear and predictable swelling. The hook-and-loop sandal version, such as the navy MSW3N, lets you loosen or tighten the closure as swelling changes through the day, which many patients find more comfortable when edema fluctuates.
Getting the right size matters more here than with everyday footwear. Darco MedSurg shoes are sized separately for men and women in Small, Medium, and Large ranges — for example, a women's Large fits shoe sizes 8.5 to 10 and a men's Large fits 10.5 to 12. Because these run wide to fit over dressings, most people order their normal shoe size; if you're between sizes or expect heavy swelling, size up. The universal design fits either foot, so a single shoe works whichever side had surgery.
The neutral black and navy colorways keep the shoe discreet enough for the office or errands. For more recovery and support essentials, browse our full Home Medical Equipment & Mobility range.
