Glutasolve Glutamine Powder is designed for conditions associated with gastrointestinal (GI) injury or disease such as malabsorption and GI disorders associated with GI surgery; chemotherapy and radiation; inflammatory bowel disease; HIV/AIDS on HAART (Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy); infectious enteritis; and metabolic stress states which may result from severe burn injuries, trauma, or post-op recovery. Glutamine is the preferred amino acid fuel source for the GI tract, and the primary fuel source for cells of the GI mucosa and cells of the immune system such as lymphocytes; plus, the addition of enteral glutamine is supported by the Critical Care Nutrition Guidelines for consideration in burn, trauma, and mixed ICU patients. Each serving of Glutasolve Glutamine Powder provides 90 calories, and contains 15 grams of supplemental L-glutamine, mixes easily with water, or can be mixed with foods like yogurt, applesauce, and pudding, and it is suitable for lactose-free, gluten-free, cholesterol-free, and kosher diets and individuals greater than 3 years of age; however, it is not designed for parenteral use and is intended for use under medical supervision.
