peptamen junior is a nutritionally complete formula for tube feeding or oral supplementation that provides nutritional support for children ages 1 to 13 with impaired gi function such as short bowel syndrome, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, crohns disease, malabsorption, chronic diarrhea, delayed gastric emptying, growth failure, early enteral feeding, or transitioning from tpn. this unique formula contains enzymatically hydrolyzed 100% whey protein which may facilitate gastric emptying; calcilock (a blend of essential nutrients to support healthy bone development); and 60% of fat from mct to decrease potential for fat malabsorption, and it meets the 2011 iom recommendations for calcium and vitamin d. peptamen junior is suitable for lactose-intolerant and gluten-free diets, but it is not formulated for individuals with galactosemia; contains milk protein and thus is not appropriate for individuals with cows' milk protein allergy; and is intended for use under medical supervision.
