Op-D-Op Reusable Face Shields
Op-D-Op face shields are built for clinicians who wear protection all day and need it to earn its keep. Unlike disposable shields that fog, slip, and end up in the trash after one procedure, these are lightweight, reusable systems designed around comfort and a clear, distortion-free field of view — which is why they've long been a favorite in dental operatories, surgical suites, and labs.
The line splits into two constructions. The ABS Face Shield Kits use a rigid frame with a ventilated visor to reduce heat buildup, and come in Medium and Large sizes with color-coded visors (violet, white, purple) so staff can identify their own personal shield at a glance. The Polysoft Face Shield Kits take a softer approach: an anti-fog clear shield, a one-size-fits-most visor with a cinch cord for a secure custom fit, and a flexible headband that many wearers find more comfortable over long shifts or with loupes.
A common question is whether these shields are sterile — they are non-sterile and reusable, intended to be wiped down and disinfected between uses per your facility protocol, then worn again. Both styles offer full-length clear-tint shields that protect the full face from splash and spray without dimming your view of the patient or work surface. The clear (untinted) optics matter especially in dentistry and detailed lab work where color accuracy counts.
Choosing between them usually comes down to fit preference and how the shield sits with your other equipment. The rigid ABS kits give a more structured, ventilated feel; the Polysoft with its cinch cord adapts to more head shapes and pairs easily with magnification. Both are meant to replace endless boxes of single-use shields, lowering long-term cost while giving each wearer a reliable, personal piece of PPE.
