Optiflow Nasal Cannulas
Fisher & Paykel Optiflow nasal cannulas deliver high-flow oxygen therapy across a wide range of patients — from newborns to adults — using soft, wide-bore prongs designed to comfortably accommodate the higher flow rates that conventional cannulas can't manage. Honest Medical carries the Optiflow line for respiratory care in hospitals, transport, and home settings where humidified high-flow support matters.
The defining question with Optiflow is fit, because these interfaces are sized to the patient rather than one-size-fits-all. The Optiflow Junior Nasal Cannulas, Infant (OPT316) and Pediatric (OPT318) are engineered for smaller anatomy, with prongs and wigglepads shaped to sit securely on delicate skin without occluding the nares — critical for maintaining consistent flow and avoiding pressure injury in the youngest patients. The Optiflow Nasal Cannulas, Large (OPT946) serve adult patients requiring higher flow rates, with a cuff and prong geometry built to stay comfortable during extended therapy.
Because Optiflow prongs are intentionally larger and non-occlusive, they allow warmed, humidified gas to be delivered at flow rates well beyond standard oxygen cannulas while still permitting the patient to breathe, speak, and — where appropriate — eat. Correct sizing is the single most important step: prongs should fill roughly half the nostril, never seal it. When ordering, match the cannula to the patient's age and nare size, and confirm compatibility with your Fisher & Paykel humidification circuit and flow generator.
These cannulas are single-patient-use components of a complete high-flow therapy system. For broader oxygen delivery and airway management supplies, explore our Respiratory collection.
