Peptamen 1.5 is a nutritionally complete formula for tube feeding or oral supplementation that provides nutritional support for individuals with impaired GI function such as shortened feeding schedules, elevated protein requirements, fluid/volume restrictions, malabsorption, pancreatitis, short bowel syndrome, chronic diarrhea, malnutrition, cystic fibrosis, delayed gastric emptying, cerebral palsy, Crohn’s disease/IBD, malabsorption related to cancer treatment, early enteral feeding, or transitioning from TPN. This evidence-based, well-tolerated, calorically dense GI formula contains a balanced peptide profile that promotes GI absorption and integrity; enzymatically hydrolyzed 100% whey protein which may facilitate gastric emptying; and 70% of fat from MCT to decrease potential for fat malabsorption, and it is calorically dense to address nutritional needs in a smaller volume. Peptamen 1.5 is suitable for lactose-intolerant, gluten-free, and low-residue diets, but it is not formulated for individuals with galactosemia; contains milk protein and thus is not appropriate for individuals with cows' milk protein allergy; and is intended for use under medical supervision.
