PhaSeal Closed System Transfer Devices

PhaSeal is the closed system transfer device (CSTD) that set the standard for safe handling of hazardous drugs in oncology pharmacies and infusion settings. Developed to protect pharmacists, nurses, and clinicians from exposure to cytotoxic and other hazardous medications, the PhaSeal system creates a mechanically and airtight barrier during compounding, transport, and administration.

If you're evaluating CSTDs for USP <800> compliance, the question usually comes down to how well a system contains vapor, aerosol, and liquid at every connection point. PhaSeal uses a double-membrane, needle-based design that keeps drug and air pathways fully enclosed—no venting to the surrounding air, no leakage at connection or disconnection. That "dry connection" approach is why many hazardous drug safety programs standardize on it.
