ProM TENS Units by ProMed Specialties
The ProM line from ProMed Specialties centers on practical, dependable transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for managing chronic and acute pain at home or in the clinic. If you've been prescribed TENS therapy for back pain, arthritis, sciatica, or muscle soreness, the question is usually the same: does the unit give you enough control to actually find relief? The ProM answers that with straightforward analog operation and adjustable settings you can dial in without navigating menus.
At the heart of the collection is the ProM-300 TENS Unit (PROM-300), a two-channel analog device delivering 21 micro coulombs per pulse. It provides up to 80 mA peak on the positive pulse and -20 mA on the negative, with pulse width adjustable from 40 to 260 microseconds. The dual channels let you place up to four electrodes, treating two areas at once—useful when pain radiates or spans both sides of the lower back.
Analog control is a deliberate choice here. Rather than preset programs, the ProM-300's dials let you fine-tune intensity and pulse width in real time, which many long-term users prefer for finding the exact sensation that masks their pain without overstimulating. It's a design that rewards familiarity: once you learn your settings, adjustment takes seconds.
A TENS unit is only as effective as its electrode contact, so plan on keeping fresh pads and lead wires on hand—worn electrodes are the most common reason therapy feels weaker over time. Always follow your clinician's guidance on placement and session length, and avoid use over the chest, throat, or broken skin.
