The BD Saf-T-Intima is a closed IV catheter system built for situations where a stable, patient-friendly vascular access site matters most — pediatric and neonatal care, difficult sticks, blood sampling, and intermittent or continuous infusion. Its integrated wings and flexible extension tubing let clinicians secure the catheter flat against the skin, reducing movement at the insertion site and the discomfort of a rigid hub. For repeated access, that stability often means fewer restarts and better vein preservation.

Every catheter in this line features BD Vialon biomaterial, which softens after insertion to help extend dwell time, along with a retracting safety needle that shields the needle tip immediately upon withdrawal to lower the risk of accidental needlesticks. The closed design and available PRN or Y injection ports also help limit blood exposure during placement and connection.

24 Gauge (Yellow), 22 mL/min — a 0.75-inch catheter suited to fragile, small, or pediatric veins. Available with a PRN port (ref. 383312) or a Y port (ref. 383313) for compatibility with your infusion setup.
22 Gauge (Blue), 36 mL/min — a higher flow option for adult peripheral access, offered with a PRN port (ref. 383322) or Y port (ref. 383323).

All variants are 0.75 inch in length with radiopaque catheters for confirmation under imaging, a notched stainless steel introducer needle for smooth entry, and a winged plastic hub for secure taping.
