Silver-Sept
Silver-Sept Antimicrobial Skin & Wound Gel
Silver-Sept harnesses ionic silver in a clear, water-based gel to help manage the microbial burden in wounds while keeping the wound bed moist — a balance that supports the body's natural healing environment. It's a practical choice for clinicians and caregivers dressing partial- and full-thickness wounds, pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, first- and second-degree burns, skin tears, and abrasions, where controlling bacteria and maintaining moisture both matter.
The gel is applied directly to the cleansed wound and covered with an appropriate secondary dressing. Because it's clear, it lets you visualize the wound at dressing changes, and its latex-free formulation makes it suitable for patients with latex sensitivities. Note that Silver-Sept is supplied non-sterile, so it's typically reserved for wounds that don't require a sterile field.
This collection carries Silver-Sept Antimicrobial Skin and Wound Gel in two tube sizes:
- 1.5 oz tube (ref. 3015S) — a compact size well suited to smaller or occasional wounds and to home caregivers managing a single site.
- 3 oz tube (ref. 3003S) — a larger format that stretches further across frequent dressing changes or multiple wounds, a better value for facilities and busy wound-care routines.
How much to apply depends on wound size — a thin, even layer coating the wound bed is generally enough, reapplied at each dressing change per your care plan or clinician's direction. Silver-based gels are valued precisely because silver ions offer broad antimicrobial activity without the resistance concerns associated with some topical antibiotics.
