Silverlon Antimicrobial Silver Wound Dressings

Silverlon dressings from Argentum Medical use metallic silver plating to deliver sustained antimicrobial protection across a wide range of acute and chronic wounds. Silver ions are released steadily as the dressing interacts with wound exudate, helping reduce bioburden in surgical incisions, skin grafts, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, and heavily draining wounds — often while extending wear time between changes.

Because different wounds need different formats, this collection spans the full Silverlon line. For draining or cavity wounds, the Silverlon Calcium Alginate Dressings (available as 2" x 2", 4" x 4¾", 4" x 8", and 8" x 12" pads plus a ¾" x 12" rope, CA-475 through CA-812) absorb exudate while conforming to the wound bed. Deep or tunneling wounds call for the Silverlon Wound Packing Strip (1" x 24", WPS124), and the Silverlon Wound Contact Dressing (WCD-22) lays a pure metallic silver layer directly against the wound as a non-adherent primary contact. For simpler closed or lightly draining sites, the Silver Island Dressing (ID-410) combines a foam pad with an adhesive border for all-in-one coverage.

A common question is how Silverlon differs from other silver dressings: its silver-plated nylon design activates with moisture and can be re-moistened, which supports its use over multi-day wear windows per manufacturer guidance. Alginate versions are best matched to moderate-to-heavy exudate, while contact-layer and island products suit lower-drainage or protected wounds. All products listed here are sterile and single-use.
