DeRoyal Sofsorb Absorbent Wound Dressings
Sofsorb dressings are built for wounds that produce more drainage than a standard gauze pad can handle — surgical incisions, pressure injuries, donor sites, and other moderately to heavily exudating wounds. The DeRoyal Sofsorb line uses a five-layer fabric construction that pulls fluid away from the wound surface and locks it inside the pad, keeping the bed protected while reducing the frequency of changes.
Each dressing works the same way regardless of size: a soft, non-adherent contact layer sits against the wound, while inner wicking and absorbent layers move exudate up and away and a fluid-repellent backing helps guard against strike-through. That layered design is what lets a single Sofsorb pad manage drainage that would soak through simpler dressings, and it's why clinicians reach for it on wounds that need real fluid capacity rather than just coverage.
