Soft-Lock Patient Identification Wristbands
Accurate patient identification starts at the wrist. Precision Dynamics Soft-Lock wristbands are write-on vinyl ID bands built for hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, and long-term care settings where a legible, tamper-resistant band on every patient is a first line of safety.
The line is designed around comfort and security. The soft vinyl construction lays flat against the skin without pinching, while the adhesive closure locks the band closed so it can't be removed and reapplied without tearing — a key feature for maintaining chain-of-identity integrity throughout a stay. You simply write the patient's information directly on the band with a ballpoint pen; the surface holds ink cleanly and resists smudging through hand washing, alcohol wipes, and daily wear.
Buyers typically ask about three things: sizing, color coding, and which series fits their workflow. Soft-Lock covers all of them:
- Soft-Lock 624 series — the standard write-on band available in adult and adult/pediatric lengths (11-inch and larger), including the blue 624-13-PDJ. A reliable everyday choice for general admissions.
- Soft-Lock Colorguard (651 series) — write-on bands offered in multiple colors, so your facility can flag allergies, fall risk, DNR status, or department at a glance. The white 651-11-PDJ measures 12-1/2 inches for larger adult wrists.
- Soft-Lock Sealident (611 series) — bands engineered for a secure sealed closure where extra tamper resistance matters.
Choosing the right band comes down to wrist size and whether you use color to communicate clinical alerts. Pediatric and slimmer-adult wrists are served by the shorter lengths, while the 12-1/2-inch options accommodate wider wrists or over-dressing placement. Because these are direct write-on bands, no printer or special ribbon is required — ideal for facilities that need a fast, low-cost identification method.
