Sol-Care Safety Syringes
Sol-Care by Sol-Millennium Medical is a line of retractable safety syringes engineered to protect clinicians and caregivers from accidental needlestick injuries. After an injection, the needle retracts into the barrel with a single-handed motion — reducing exposure to bloodborne pathogens and supporting compliance with OSHA and the Needlestick Safety and Prevention Act. For any facility managing sharps injury logs, that built-in engineered protection matters as much as the injection itself.
This collection focuses on two workhorse formats. The Sol-Care Safety Insulin Syringes (100017IM) are U-100, 1 mL syringes with a fixed 29-gauge, 1/2-inch needle and 0.01 mL increments — sized for accurate insulin dosing in diabetes care, with an orange hub for quick identification. The Sol-Care Safety Tuberculin Syringes (100019IM) offer a finer 27-gauge, 1/2-inch fixed needle in a 1 mL barrel with 0.01 mL graduations, suited to TB skin testing, allergy work, and small-volume intradermal or subcutaneous injections. Both are sterile, single-use, and feature the same retractable mechanism.
Buyers most often ask how the retraction works and whether it changes technique: the needle is activated at the end of injection, so the workflow stays familiar while the used needle is immediately sheathed inside the barrel. Because both models use fixed (non-detachable) needles and regular bevel tips, they're straightforward to standardize across a clinic, home-health kit, or long-term care cart. Choose gauge by application — 29G orange for insulin, 27G gray for tuberculin and other precision low-volume draws.
When ordering, confirm the correct model number for your protocol and the case quantity that fits your usage. Sol-Care's consistent design across sizes makes it easy to keep one safety syringe system in stock rather than juggling multiple brands.
