Solosite Hydrogel Wound Dressings
Dry, sloughy, or necrotic wounds heal best in a moist environment, and that's exactly what Solosite Hydrogel from Smith & Nephew is designed to create. This amorphous gel donates moisture to the wound bed to support autolytic debridement — helping the body gently soften and lift away dead tissue — while keeping surrounding skin protected. It's a go-to for pressure injuries, leg ulcers, partial- and full-thickness wounds, and dry-to-lightly-exuding wounds that need rehydration rather than absorption.
We carry the Smith & Nephew Solosite Hydrogel in the 3 oz tube (ref. 449600), a clear, amorphous, non-cytotoxic gel. The non-cytotoxic formulation matters: it won't harm healthy granulating tissue as the wound heals, so it's suitable for extended use across a course of treatment. The tube format lets you apply an even layer directly into the wound bed and adjust the amount to wound depth and shape — useful for tunneling or irregular wounds where a solid dressing won't conform.
