Terumo Medical Supplies
Terumo is a name clinicians reach for when a needle stick has to be smooth and a draw has to be clean the first time. This collection brings together the Terumo products that phlebotomists, infusion nurses, and procurement teams order most: safety lancets, disposable syringes, and the Surflo and Surshield winged infusion sets that have become a standard in blood collection and short-term IV access.
For capillary sampling, the Capiject Safety Lancet uses push-button activation with a fully retractable 28-gauge needle at a 1.25 mm depth — shallow enough for routine fingersticks while the retraction mechanism guards against accidental exposure. When a larger volume draw or irrigation is involved, the 60 mL General Purpose Syringe (SS-60L) offers a Luer lock tip, clear 1 mL graduations, and a flat-top plunger in a sterile, single-use design.
Winged sets are where buyers most often ask about the difference between the two Terumo lines. The Surflo Infusion Sets are the classic butterfly configuration with DEHP-free PVC tubing and thin-wall stainless needles, stocked here in 18, 19, and 22 gauge with 12-inch tubing — the higher gauges (thinner needles) suit smaller or fragile veins, while 18–19 gauge handle faster flow. The Surshield Infusion Sets add a manual needle shield that snaps over the needle after withdrawal, meeting facility requirements for engineered sharps protection; you'll find these in 21 and 23 gauge safety versions.
All items ship sterile and are intended for single use. Choosing between Surflo and Surshield usually comes down to your sharps-safety policy: standard butterfly sets for cost-sensitive settings, Surshield where a passive or activated safety feature is mandated. If you don't see a specific gauge or case quantity, reach out — Terumo's range is broad and we can help match it to your protocol.
