Tricofix Tubular Bandages

Tricofix is Essity's lightweight tubular bandage, built to hold dressings and padding in place without the bulk or pressure of a wrap. Because it's a soft, elasticated cotton-viscose stockinette, it moves with the limb it covers — which is exactly what you want under a cast, beneath compression, or over an awkward joint where a traditional bandage would bunch or slip. It doesn't apply therapeutic compression; its job is retention and skin protection, and it does that job cleanly.

The main thing to get right when ordering is size. Tricofix is sold by width, coded with letters that map to body parts. Our stock includes Size F (4 inches × 22 yards, 02198) and Size G (4.7 inches × 22 yards, 02199), both suited to the adult thigh or a large head, plus the lightweight sterile, washable roll (02197) in a 3-1/5-inch width. As a rule, choose a width that stretches snugly over the area without digging in — the fabric conforms rather than constricts, so it should sit comfortably even over dressings.

Practical reasons clinicians and caregivers reach for it: it's washable and reusable in home settings, it's breathable enough for extended wear, and the 22-yard rolls cut to any length, so a single roll covers many applications with little waste. It also makes a smooth, non-irritating lining layer under plaster or synthetic casts, protecting skin from rougher outer materials.
