Xeroform Petrolatum Gauze Dressings
Xeroform dressings are fine mesh gauze impregnated with petrolatum and 3% bismuth tribromophenate, a combination valued for keeping a wound bed moist while resisting adherence to healing tissue. That non-stick quality is the reason clinicians reach for Xeroform on skin grafts, donor sites, superficial burns, lacerations, and freshly closed surgical incisions — the dressing lifts away at changes without tearing new granulation, and the bismuth component offers a mild deodorizing, antibacterial effect on the wound surface.
This collection carries both Cardinal Health Xeroform and Integra LifeSciences Xeroform dressings in the sizes wound care actually calls for. The 2 x 2 inch fine mesh squares suit small wounds, biopsy sites, and stoma or tube exit sites. The 1 x 8 inch strips are the workhorse for packing narrow wounds, umbilical care, and circumcision dressings, while the 5 x 9 inch sheets cover graft and donor areas or larger abrasions. All are sterile and single-use.
