The transparent polyurethane net sits directly against the wound, sealing the wound edges to prevent maceration while its open structure lets exudate pass freely into a secondary absorbent dressing above it. Because the Safetac silicone adheres gently to intact skin but not to the moist wound, removal is virtually pain-free — a real difference for patients with fragile skin, skin tears, partial-thickness burns, or wounds that need frequent inspection.

Mepitel One can stay in place for up to 14 days, so the contact layer remains undisturbed while only the outer dressing is swapped — reducing dressing-change pain and the risk of disrupting new tissue.
