Rosidal Compression Bandages by Lohmann & Rauscher

Rosidal is Lohmann & Rauscher's short-stretch compression system, built for clinicians and patients managing lymphedema, venous leg ulcers, and chronic edema. Unlike long-stretch elastic wraps, short-stretch bandages deliver a firm working pressure when the muscle contracts and a low resting pressure at rest — the profile that makes them a mainstay of multilayer compression therapy and lymphedema decongestion.

The line centers on Rosidal K short-stretch bandages, a breathable, latex-free cotton weave in tan. Width matters when you're building an even, graduated wrap, so the range spans narrow rolls for fingers, feet, and ankles up through wide rolls for calves and thighs — including the 1.6" x 5.5 yd (22199), 2.4" x 5.5 yd (22200), 4" x 11 yd (90689), and 4.7" x 11 yd (22205). Choosing two or three widths per limb lets you follow the taper of the leg without bunching or slippage.

Short-stretch bandaging works best over padding. Rosidal soft foam padding (23111, 23112) protects bony prominences, redistributes pressure, and helps prevent the tourniquet effect at the shin and dorsum of the foot. A typical setup layers a stockinette, the foam padding, then the K bandage applied in a spiral or figure-eight at consistent tension.

Rosidal K is washable and reusable, which keeps per-application cost down across a course of therapy — a practical point for both home users and clinics stocking in volume. The cotton construction also means the bandages breathe rather than trapping heat against compromised skin.
