It is designed to come into contact with and absorb wound exudate thus inhibiting protease activity by binding, inactivating, and reducing the levels of MMPs at the wound site. It also maintains a moist wound environment at the wound surface that aids in the formation of granulation tissue and epithelialization, and this unique powder may be used for pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, mixed vascular ulcers, venous ulcers, cuts and abrasions, venous stasis ulcers, surgical wounds, and first and second degree burns.
