Mepitel® Ag is a gentle wound contact layer – for when you need an antimicrobial action to reduce bioburden in the wound. It's designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as skin tears, skin abrasions, sutured/surgical wounds, partial thickness burns, partial and full thickness grafts, lacerations, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers and arterial ulcers. Mepitel Ag has been shown to inactivate wound relevant pathogens – bacteria and fungi – within four hours and for up to 8 days, as shown in vitro. An international consensus states that an antimicrobial action is indicated to help reduce bioburden in infected wounds. And acts as an antimicrobial barrier in wounds at high risk of infection or re-infection. Mepitel Ag adheres gently with Safetac® – the original less-pain contact layer with silicone adhesion. So patients experience less pain during dressing changes.
